Admission – FAR

The admission to B.Sc. (Hons.) Agriculture is done based on merit considering the marks obtained by the students in the qualifying examination as per the reservation norms of Govt. of Tamil Nadu.

The advertisement for admission notification is published through different print media and also uploaded on the institutions’ website (www.vucbe.org/admission-far/) along with the prospectus and application form.

The prospectus contains information about the programme, courses offered, eligibility criteria, fee structure, academic and hostel facilities, rules and regulations etc., Candidates seeking admission must apply through online/offline mode and the hard copy of filled application form must be sent to the institution along with necessary documents. The rank list will be prepared based on the cut-off marks obtained in the qualifying examinations. Eligible candidates are called for the interview and admitted after verification of the necessary original documents.

Eligibility Criteria for Admission

  1. General: Men Candidates fulfilling the eligibility conditions are eligible to apply
  2. Educational Qualification: Higher Secondary Course (HSC) – Academic / Vocational stream

a. Academic Stream

Candidates, who have passed all the subjects in Academic stream of the following Groups of Qualifying Examination with 10+2 years of schooling under Board of Higher Secondary Education of Government of Tamil Nadu/Central Board of Secondary Education/Council for The Indian School Certificate Examinations/other State Government Boards/other International Boards that are recognized, are eligible for the degree programme.

Group I – Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology

Group II – Physics, Chemistry, Biology with a fourth (elective) subject of any science subject having marks (not Grades)

Group II (A) – Physics, Chemistry, Botany and Zoology

b .Vocational Stream

Candidates, who have passed Higher Secondary Course (HSC) under Vocational stream and studied Biology and Agricultural Practices as vocational subjects including theory and practical, are eligible to apply for B. Sc. (Hons.) Agriculture degree. Five per cent of seats are exclusively reserved for candidates who have qualified under Vocational Stream and therefore they shall not be considered under general merit and any other reservation categories.

3. Cut-off marks

Candidates are admitted to B. Sc. (Hons.) Agriculture programme based on merit and      cut-off marks of 200 calculated aggregately for the scores secured by the candidates in the qualifying examination.

4. Age Limit

Candidates should not have completed the age of 21 years on the first day of July of the admission year. However, for Scheduled Castes (SC), Scheduled Caste-Arunthathiars (SCA) and Scheduled Tribes (ST) there is NO AGE LIMIT. 5

5 .Physical Fitness

A physical fitness certificate obtained from any qualified Medical Practitioner need to be produced at the time of admission.

6. Payment of fees

The selected candidates have to pay the admission and tuition fee to the institution through online mode or DD through bank.

7. Registration

After admission and payment of required fees, the students report to the institution on the day of commencement of the first semester.

Students get registered for their courses of study with the help of their Coordinator, nominated by the Dean, after due orientation to the institution and programme. The list of courses, course teachers, time table and academic calendar for the semester are displayed on the Notice Board.
